Ten VLGCs project completed

HSHI yard, Mokpo, S.Korea: the last in a row of ten ECO VLGCs was successfully delivered to her owners.
SeaQuest succeeded in the challenging task to carry out the supervision of thirteen modern Eco VLGCs in two projects at DMSE and HSHI in S.Korea, ensuring the delivery all vessels in superb sailing and trading conditions in less than 20 months from the steel cutting of the first hull, with full satisfaction of the ship owning company.
The SeaQuest site team, guided by our Project Manager, reached up to over 20 multi-national newbuilding supervisors in peak periods, including the Site Manager, machinery, hull, paint inspectors, and experts in automation, LPG cargo containment and cryogenic systems, assisted by up to two secretaries.
SeaQuest has a track record of twenty VLGCs contracted for plan approval and construction supervision.

The year 2015 has seen a major downfall in the fortunes of all the major Korean Shipyards: economic downsizing, belt-tightening and cuts to manpower.
In this background of a gloomy international marine market for shipbuilding and offshore sector, SeaQuest was spectacularly successful in turning the tide for the company under the dynamic and proactive leadership of their MD, Jan Andersson, along with the Top Management, and achieved a remarkable performance by delivering over 30 complex ships of superb quality to customers satisfaction.
The total number of ships delivered by all the major shipyards in Korea was below 300 units, of which SeaQuest supervised and delivered abt. 10% of the best ships built in Korea: this is a matter of great pride and prestige for us and sets the challenge for SeaQuest team to perform even better under Jan’s stewardship in the years to come.
In 2015 SeaQuest had over 20 Site Offices open in HHI-Ulsan, HHI-Gunsan, HSHI, DSME, STX-Jinhae, STX-Goseong, SPP Gosung, SPP Sacheon, SPP Anjung, SPP Dukpo, Naikai, Imabari, DSIC Dalian and Waigaoqiao (SWS) shipyards, building sophisticated and diverse high technology ships like VLGC, VLCC, Tankers, Ro-Ro container vessels for prestigious clients. We ventured in the new field of MARS (Military Afloat Reach & Sustainability) Tankers for UK MoD and LSV (Logistics support Vessel) for Norway Defence Logistics Organization and are successfully following up the supervision of these vessels. SeaQuest is unique in managing both commercial and naval support ships.
SeaQuest’s sterling performance has been in achieving quality and safety, along with a sizeable turnover, with a multi-disciplinary professional team under watchful supervision and guidance of their “helmsman”.

Year's last delivery for SeaQuest took place in Hyundai Samho yard today: an 84K m3 VLGC/ECO-ship.
In 2015 SeaQuest has been involved in the supervision of 57 new buildings in various South Korean, Chinese and Japanese shipyards: 31 ships were delivered during the year and 26 are underway, scheduled for completion in 2016 and 2017.
Vessels' type includes Bulk Carrier, Crude Oil Tanker, Product Carrier, Very Large LPG Carrier and Con-RO cargo carrier.

Three VLGCs project completed

We are pleased to announce the delivery of the ECO Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) “Copernicus” at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Geoje Island, S.Korea.
The ship is the last in a row of 3 modern VLGCs built by the Korean yard and delivered in rapid succession in a 2.5 months span.
All vessels have been carefully supervised by one of the three SeaQuest site teams operating at DMSE yard in 2015.
