Our
site team has been overseeing the construction of the first mega
block, 3,400 tonnes, built at Samsung Heavy Industries. The
massive block was laid as the keel for the ship M. T. Ariadne
Jacob, a Panamax product tanker. The dock time for the hull construction
of the vessel will be 32 days compared to that of 67 days required
in dock for the conventional hull block erection of the sister
ship.
The 75,000tdw Panamax Product Carrier, built at STX Shipyard,
Korea, in 2005 for the Owner Transpetrol, Belgium, was selected
as the Great Ship of 2005 by the Maritime Reporter & Engineering

carried out by SeaQuest Marine Project Management Ltd.
M.T.
Perseverance, delivered in June 2005, was the
first Panamax PC built by STX Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. to obtain
DNV Ice Class 1A notation.
The ship was designed to endure 25 years fatigue life time and
the 1A notation for navigation in ice, required special consideration
of hull forms, structure and propulsion system, based on -20 deg
°C ambient temperature.
The
M. V. Mineral Kiwi has achieved a world's double
first. The vessel was constructed under our supervision and is
the first double hull bulk carrier to be built by Hyundai Heavy
Industries. It is also the first of its generation to be delivered.
The vessel was originally ordered as a single hull ship but during
the planning stage the decision was made to alter the design to
a double hull configuration based on the draft rules.
M.V.
Resolve, built at STX Shipyard, was selected as one of the
distinctive ships of 2003 by Marine Log and one of the best ship
designs of 2003 by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects
publication Significant Ships of 2003. SeaQuest was in charge
of plan approval and construction supervision.
Our personnel were the Consultant Engineers for M.V.

in STX Shipyard, Korea. This ship was chosen by the Royal Institution
of Naval Architects as a Significant Ship of 2002.
